1950-2013

Paul Harrell Jones Jr., a resident of McCoy the past three years, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at 4:05 a.m. in his sister’s residence at the age of 62 years, 9 months, and 25 days. Paul was born Nov. 16, 1950, in Uvalde, Texas, the son of Eulalia Mae Talley and Paul Harrell Jones Sr.

Paul attended elementary schools in Uvalde and graduated from Del Rio High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, earning numerous medals for his faithful service.

Paul was preceded in death by his son, Justin Jones.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Jones; his sisters, Jana Wagner and husband Douglas, Evelyn Hill and husband Ronald, and Susan Messick; his brother, Jerry Jones and wife Deborah Rendon; his step-father, John Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9:30 a.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Poth.

A funeral service with military honors was held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel officiated by Pastor Kelly Tankersley.
