ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. 1924-2013

Celia Valdez Silva passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 26 days. She was born April 11, 1924, in Floresville to Jesus and Christina Vasquez Valdez.

A lifelong resident of Floresville, Celia was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francisco Silva in 1999; sister Leomar Valenzuela; brothers Adan Valdez and David Valdez; grandson Blaine Trevino Sr.; and brothers-in-law Guillermo Valenzuela and Pablo Ximenez.

Celia is survived by her children, Gloria Trevino, Irma Gutierrez and husband Mauro, and Lucas Trevino of Floresville; and her sister, Christina Ximenez of Floresville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mario Trevino, Vicente Trevino, Yesaria Trevino Guerra, and Joe Anthony Delgado; great-grandchildren Blaine Trevino Jr., Aissia Guerra, Corry Trevino, Isabel Delgado, Alexis Trevino, Abbygail Delgado, Christina Mills, and Joann Delgado; great-great-grandchildren Bella Trevino and Avery Trevino; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held Monday, Sept. 9, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Frank Kurzaj officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Mario Trevino, Joe Anthony Delgado, Blaine Trevino Jr., Pete Ruiz, Vicente Trevino, and David Ximenez.
