Offer condolences


Carmen T. Gonzales went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the age of 92 years. She was born July 9, 1921, to Valentine and Juanita Talamantez.

Carmen enjoyed sewing, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fabian Gonzales Sr.; her parents; and her sister, Micaela Herrera.

Carmen is survived by her children, Jose Angel Gonzales and wife Sylvia, Moses Gonzales, Fabian Gonzales Jr. and wife Isabel, Grace Valdez, Janie Gonzales, Robert Gonzales and wife Cindy, Carmen Barrientes and husband Andrew, and Raul Gonzales and wife Annette; 36 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 5-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Southside Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.
