Roper’s celebrates 10 years with party
FLORESVILLE -- Local dance hall and bar Roper’s celebrates its 10th anniversary Saturday, Sept. 21, with food and fun.
Sam Andrade opened the bar in 2003, when he noticed there was no place in the Wilson County area for people to go dancing or grab a beer while watching a sporting event.
“I drew up plans and designed the place myself,” Andrade said.
He added that the business has been very successful, due to the local support it has received over the years. Andrade attributes the support to the type of environment Roper’s creates.
This one-of-a-kind venue offers a full bar, big screen TVs, a large dance floor, and karaoke on Thursdays. Live music, nightly specials, and theme nights all add to the mix.
“I feel great about 10 years under our belt,” Andrade said. “I did not expect to own my own business this long; I’m very grateful.”
The celebration begins Sept. 21 at 4 p.m. with food, a drawing, and giveaways. Admission will be $4 per person. The music for the night will be provided by DJ Kickstart.
Roper’s is located at 528 10th St. in Floresville. Hours of operation are Monday and Tuesday, 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Wednesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
