SAN ANTONIO -- A public 5K run/walk to support the San Antonio area Navy Birthday Ball will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Olmos Basin Park on Devine Road. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with race-day registration beginning at 6 a.m.

Age-based categories will be in place for men and women, with prizes for the winner from each category. The first 150 runners to cross the finish line will also receive a T-shirt, sport bag, and water bottle.

The entry fee is $30 for those who register early, and the fee is $35 the day of the event. Registration must be done online at www.sanantonionavyball.com/, or in person on the day of the event. Funds will help purchase Navy Ball tickets for entry-level junior enlisted sailors, most experiencing the tradition of an annual Navy Birthday Ball for the first time.

For more information, call Denise Surratt at 210-627-4880, email bdsur@satx.rr.com, or visit www.sanantonionavyball.com/.
