Stephen Troyd “Hippy” Walpole passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at the age of 50 years, 2 months, and 9 days. He was born July 3, 1963, to Eleanor Koenning and S.T. Walpole Jr.

His father preceded him in death.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Eleanor Koenning Walpole of San Antonio, Texas; his sister, Marie Taylor of Floresville; his brother, Scott Walpole and wife Melinda of Kirby; and his children, Stephen Travis Walpole and wife Christine of Arkansas, and Danielle Walpole, Kyle Walpole, and Keifer Walpole, all of Alabama. He is also survived by two grandsons; his “other mother,” Dorthy Rauch; nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.

Stephen loved to fish and spend time at the lake and outdoors. He loved to teach his nephews everything he knew about fishing. He worked construction with sheet metal and welding. He would help anyone at any time of the day or night, if asked to. He was very artistic and loved to draw when he was younger.

Stephen was and still is loved by his whole family and will always be greatly missed, said his family.

No funeral service is planned.
