Beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, Louisa Maria Talamantez Martinez, known as Louise, 73, of San Antonio went home peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. She was born Feb. 22, 1940, in Floresville, Texas, to Pedro and Margarita Ramos Talamantez.

Louise was a mother to many, a woman of faith, and served the Lord with all her heart.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amador A. Martinez Jr.; her daughter, Nora G. Avant; her sons, Robert T. Martinez and Dennis Martinez; daughter-in-law Barbara Martinez; and brothers Eugene Talamantez and Sam Talamantez.

She is survived by her children, Amador T. Martinez III, Nancy Braun, and John Martinez and wife Jessica; grandchildren Allen Knepper, Matthew and Victoria Braun, and Blake Knepper; great-grandchildren Kody Braun and Brayden Braun; brothers and sisters Pete and Rosella Talamantez and Richard and Francis Talamantez; sisters-in-law Margarita Talamantez, Martha Talamantez, and Delmira and Joe Perales; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Louise’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

Her ashes will be buried alongside her children in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Immediately thereafter, a fellowship will be held in the Knights of Columbus in Floresville.
