Floresville South Elementary student Waylon George has been awarded a Community of Character award during the September school board meeting. Waylon was chosen to receive this award from interim Superintendent Sherri Bays for displaying caring behavior in the community.

During the summer, Waylon shared with his mommy that he had a new friend in his class at day care. He told about how he helped his new friend learn the rules in the classroom and on the playground. When he finished his story, he said that he did “what Rachel would do.” Waylon was using what he learned from Rachel Joy Scott’s story last year in FISD. Through his actions, he continued Rachel’s Chain Reaction of Kindness.

Waylon is a second-grader in Mrs. Ingle’s class at Floresville South Elementary. He is the son of proud parents Danny and Jennifer George. He is also big brother to Rhyder George.
