In April 2013, Connally Memorial Medical Center teamed up with the Consolata Healthcare Foundation to bring a new Wellness Program, “I Heart Health,” to Wilson County. Since its inception, the program has realized unprecedented growth, and is proud to serve more than 200 members.

“I Heart Health” features daily exercise classes including line dancing, walking groups, “A Matter of Balance” (fall prevention), Zumba, Sentao (“chair zumba”), and Pilates. The program also offers monthly educational seminars with its “Lunch & Learn” and “Dinner & Discussion” health series, where attendees are able to personally meet and chat with doctors and the CMMC staff. The Wellness Program offers the community a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, and to get fit while doing so, all free of charge.

The future looks bright for the “I Heart Health” program, as the possibility of an expanding class list looms on the horizon. On that list of potential new classes, an easy yoga and a more challenging Insanity group class have been considered for evening sessions.

CMMC’s Wellness Program is coordinated by Lori Marroquin, who has enjoyed the journey of growing the program and is thrilled with the support of the current members.

Look for the program’s monthly calendar in the mail and on Connally’s website in the future. All classes are free, but registration is required.
