Guida “Jo” Tredway, 95, of La Vernia passed away on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013. She was born on Sept. 18, 1918, in Atlanta, Kan., to Lafayette and Amanda M. (Mabie) Stice.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald G. Tredway; son-in-law Sonny Weiss; three brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Rita Nofsinger and husband Bill of Albuquerque, N.M., Karen Weiss of La Vernia, and Tonja Vickers and husband Jimmy of Zachary, La.; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas.

A funeral service was held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Pastor David Gale officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of La Vernia, P.O. Box 279, La Vernia, TX 78121.
