The Mesquite Traildrivers invite all to the third annual barbecue cook-off fund-raiser to benefit Mason Leibham all day Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5, in the Mesquite Hall in Adkins.

A Friday Night Jackpot will be cooks choice, with items to be cooked on-site and on pit. Entry fee will be $25, and all entries must be turned in by 9 p.m.

On Saturday, participants can enter their best chili, chicken, ribs, brisket, beans, or dessert. Each entry will cost $20. Registration will be from 8-9:30 a.m.

Attendees will enjoy a dance with live music by “Ranch Rock” from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday and the “Nick Lawrence Band” performing Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission will be $7.

Mason is a 6-year-old boy with Pfeiffer Syndrome, a craniofacial disorder that has led to more than 50 surgeries and more to come. All proceeds will go toward medical expenses and to help raise awareness that beyond the face is a heart.

Camping will be available; however, there will be no hookups.

For more information, call Mark Dickson at 210-649-3813, or Craig Coleman at 210-442-9699.
