Letter: Senators surrender to Obamacare

Editor:

In a recent vote in the U.S. Senate, 25 Republican senators surrendered to Harry Reid, Barack Obama, and the Socialist Party by voting to fund the most evil piece of legislation in my lifetime ... “Obamacare.”

The senators who I am the most ashamed of and disappointed in are longtime Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas; Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn.; Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga.; Tom Coborn, R-Okla.; Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.; and John McCain, R-Ariz. These men seem to have joined the Washington crowd and forgotten why they were sent to Washington in the first place. Maybe it’s time these old dogs quit the hunt ... they simply do not seem to have the heart nor stamina anymore to fight Obama and his America-hating socialism. Maybe next election, we can get lucky and find another “Ted Cruz,” a man who truly desires liberty and freedom from governmental snooping and oppression, to replace John Cornyn. I might also add that it doesn’t seem to bother Cruz in the least to stand up and tell Obama and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court what he thinks of them, which is not much.

Facts only please: Why would Cruz be included? He lost in the second cloture 79-19 vote which would have allowed debate to continue, if he won. He did not vote for the Democratic spending plan. I think the article and your argument ... More ›
