Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Mary Wroten passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Stockdale to Ione Tyler and August Franke Jr. Her father died when she was 18 months old and her mother married A.T. “Bob” Hardin in 1942.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tommy Wroten; stepfather A.T. “Bob” Hardin; sister and brother-in-law Willette and Wayne Reams; and grandson Baby Boy Newsom.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Beth Wroten Newsom and husband Bill and Judy Wroten Cline and husband Larry; four grandchildren, William Wroten Newsom, Amy Elizabeth Newsom, Christopher Joseph Cline and wife Jillian, and Thomas Matthew Cline; one great-granddaughter, Addisyn Jayde Cline; niece Kay Lansford and husband Lee; great-nephew Travis Lansford; first cousin Anne Tyler Fleming of Dallas; sisters-in-law Ruth Wroten of Baton Rouge, La., and Gloria Wroten of New Orleans, La.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 6-8 p.m. in the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Beeville.

A funeral service was held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Beeville, with the Rev. Greg Traylor officiating.

Interment followed in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 519, Beeville, TX 78104; South Texas Children’s Home; Beeville Volunteer Fire Department; or to a charity of one’s choice.
