Cast early ballots starting Oct. 21
If you did not register to vote by Oct. 7, you’re ineligible to vote in the Nov. 5 general election, which includes nine proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution (see page 11A for details).
Voters in the Wilson County News readership area also can weigh in on:
•Wilson County’s proposed certificates of obligation to fund repairs to the Wilson County Courthouse and renovations to the courthouse annex, among other projects.
•Floresville City Council, place 4: incumbent John W. Guerrero and Paul Sack
•Falls City ISD: Voters will determine the method of reducing wealth authorized under the provisions of Chapter 41 of the Texas Education Code. Choices are authorizing the board of trustees EITHER to purchase attendance credits from the state with local tax revenues OR to educate students of other school districts with local tax revenues.
Following recent state legislation, voters must ensure they have valid identification, such as a Texas driver license, passport, or state-issued election identification card -- available through the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol -- in order to vote.
Early voting for the November elections is Monday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Nov. 1. Ballots by mail may be requested through Friday, Oct. 25.
More election information will appear in coming issues of this newspaper.
