Emily Elizabeth Demmer is honored to have been chosen to represent the Floresville Volunteer Fire Department in the Peanut Festival. She is the daughter of Richard and Sherri Demmer of Floresville. She is the granddaughter of John and Barbara Burleson of Floresville, and the late Albert and Johanna Demmer, formerly of Gillett.

Emily, a senior at Floresville High School, is a member of the National Honor Society, plays flute and piccolo in the Mighty Tiger Band, and is the president of the Wilson County Teen Book Club. Emily is an Ambassador Girl Scout and is an ex-officio girl board member for the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, and also serves on the CEO cabinet. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Emily has chosen Brandon Rodriguez to be her escort.

Brandon is also a senior at Floresville High School. He is the son of Alfred and Paula Rodriguez and the grandson of Velma Connally and the late Lowell W. Connally Sr. He is a member of the tuba line in the Mighty Tiger Band. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, the American Welding Society, and the Floresville United Methodist Church.
