Lucas Kins, an exchange student from Belgium with CHI (Cultural Homestay International), is proud to be a part of the Floresville Peanut Festival. In Floresville, Lucas resides with host mom Nancy Koch. Lucas is the son of Candice and Frederic Kins and has two sisters, Léa, 15, and Milla, 4. Lucas lives with them in a small town in the French-speaking part of Belgium.

In Belgium, he studied Latin and several foreign languages.

Lucas is a senior at Floresville High School where he plays the piano in the Mighty Tiger Band. He also runs on the cross-country team.

When Lucas finishes high school in Floresville, he plans to study political science at St. Louis University in Brussels to work in diplomacy later.

Lucas’ escort will be Amanda Casias, the daughter of Laura and Jose Casias.

Amanda is also a senior at Floresville High School and plays the vibraphone in the Mighty Tiger Band. She plans to attend the University of the Incarnate Word and major in photography. After that she plans to join the U.S. Air Force to be a combat photographer.
