Christian Schmidt is one of the current CHI (Cultural Homestay International) exchange students at Floresville High School. He and his foreign exchange brother, Lucas, are staying in the home of their host mother, Nancy Koch. Christian is the son of Sabine Hauberichs and Martin Schmidt, who live in Hennef, a small town in the west of Germany. He has two younger sisters, Victoria and Katharina.

Back home, Christian is a member of the local tennis club and plays the drums in the city’s music school. He is also interested in soccer. He is a junior at Floresville High School, where he takes AP classes. He is also a member of the soccer team and the Mighty Tiger Band.

After this school year, he will finish school in Germany. Christian aspires to become a pilot.

Christian’s escort, Kayla Foster, is the daughter of Nancy and James Foster, and sister of Mackenzie.

Kayla is a senior at Floresville High School, where she is in the Mighty Tiger Band. She wants to thank Christian for choosing her as his escort. She hopes he likes Texas and that he will enjoy his stay.
