Marissa Danielle Gonzales is honored to represent the Sutherland Springs Community Association. She will be escorted by Daniel Ramirez, the son of Daniel and Oralia Ramirez of Floresville.

Marissa is the 17-year-old daughter of Joe and Elizabeth Gonzales, and the little sister of Steven Leifeste-Gonzales, all of Sutherland Springs. Marissa is the granddaughter of Higinio and Rebecca Gonzales of San Antonio and Joe and Christine Olguin of Converse.

Marissa, a senior at Floresville High School, has been a member of Link Crew, Red Cross Club, and Rachel’s Challenge, and has been a member of the varsity Jaguar soccer team since her sophomore year. She is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Marissa enjoys playing soccer for the Lions Futbol Club and refereeing for the Wilson County Soccer League. Her volunteer activities include participating in many SSCA activities, such as visiting residents of local nursing homes.

Marissa plans to attend Texas Lutheran University, St. Mary’s University, or Stephen F. Austin, where she will pursue a degree in sports psychology.

Marissa would like to thank the board of directors and the community of Sutherland Springs for giving her the opportunity to represent them in the Peanut Festival.
