The City of Poth is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the police department, provide patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, enforce all laws and ordinances and be responsible for public health and safety. Must be community oriented, have strong public relations skills, strong work ethics, must be physically fit and maintain a professional image while in uniform. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid Class C or higher Texas Driver’s License. Must be TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer certified and have at least 5 years of experience with law enforcement agency; SWAT, Gang Unit, Narcotics or Detective experience a plus, pass a thorough background check investigation with drug screen and credit check. The City offers benefit package with retirement plan and medical insurance. Salary dependent on qualifications. EOE. Suzette Desiree Sanchez is honored to represent the Sacred Heart Guadalupana Society in the 69th annual Floresville Peanut Festival.

Suzette is the 17-year-old daughter of Ana A. Dominguez and Pedro Sanchez. She is the granddaughter of Arturo Dominguez and Maria Sanchez and Pedro Sanchez Sr. and Dorotea Hernandez. She has two brothers, Eric, 18, and Joshua, 10.

Suzette is a senior at Floresville High School. She plays saxophone for the Mighty Tiger Band and is a member of the National Honor Society. She has also been a member of the Jaguar varsity soccer team for four years. She plans to attend UTSA to pursue a degree in psychology and physical therapy.

Suzette’s escort will be Cesar Hernandez, the 17-year-old son of Jesus and Priscilla Hernandez. Cesar is the grandson of Guadalupe and Elsie Rangel. He has four brothers, Nic, 20, Dominic, 13, Izaac, 7, and Oscar, 4 months.

Cesar is also a senior at FHS and is a member of the varsity Tiger football team. He is also a tutor at Floresville South Elementary. He plans to study mechanical engineering.

Suzette and Cesar would like to thank Olga Marrero for giving them the opportunity to represent the Guadalupana Society in this year’s Peanut Festival.
