Lane Jackson Bodiford is honored to represent the Floresville Peanut Festival Association as crown bearer to Queen-elect Corinne Morkovsky and the Court of Broadway Lights in the 69th annual Peanut Festival.

Lane is the 7-year-old son of Lonnie and Jalyn Bodiford and big brother to Luke Bodiford. He is the grandson of Ben Roland and Nancy Talamantez and Wanda Bodiford and the late Larry Bodiford. He is the great-grandson of Doris Bruce of Floresville and the late Jack L. Bruce, and Sarafina Talamantez of Floresville and the late Benito L. Talamantez.

Lane is a second-grader at Floresville North Elementary School. He has played soccer with the Wilson County Soccer League for many seasons and plays baseball with the Floresville Little League. He also attends the First Baptist Church in Floresville where he enjoys attending Sunday school. When not participating in sports, Lane likes to be outdoors hunting and fishing and playing with friends and family.

Lane has a strong family history in the peanut farming industry as well as the Peanut Festival itself. His great-grandpa Bruce and great-grandpa Talamantez were both peanut farmers for many years. He has also had several family members serve on the Peanut Festival Association as well as the Royal Court. His aunt, Paula Bodiford Gorzell, served as a princess and his uncle, Bennett Talamantez, served as a prince on Royal Courts. His aunt, Tammy Bodiford Skloss, also served as a train bearer on the Children’s Court and as a princess on the Royal Court.

Lane and his family would like to express their gratitude to Nora Cadena for all of her hard work and dedication on the construction of his beautiful costume. He would also like to extend his most sincere appreciation to Queen-elect Corinne Morkovsky and her family for allowing him to continue the tradition of being a part of peanut history while serving on the Court of Broadway Lights.
