Sheriff’s Office plans 19th annual Santa Shootout
The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office will host its 19th annual Wilson County Sheriff’s Santa Shootout Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning at 9 a.m.
The event is one of the major fund-raisers used to purchase food and presents for the families of Wilson County who are in need during this year’s upcoming holiday season.
The entry fee is just $8 per round, and shooters are welcome to shoot as many rounds as they like in both the revolver and semi-automatic categories. The best score fired by the shooter in that category will win a trophy. Both revolver and semi-auto shooters will compete for trophies in their respective skill divisions. In addition, door prizes will be given away, and food and beverages will be provided.
All shooters must be 18 years of age or older. The match is for handguns only, and no .22 caliber handguns are allowed. Participants should take plenty of ammunition, speed loaders, magazines, holsters (no cross draw holsters allowed), belts, and hearing and eye protection.
The match will be held at the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office firing range, located off S.H. 97 East, about 7 miles outside of Floresville. Signs will be put out to direct participants to the range.
