Letter: Has American media been brainwashed?

Editor:

Thank you for publishing the comments of Elaine Kolodziej, Thomas Sowell, Patrick Dorinson, Linda Willis-Riojas, and Jack Dunn. This is the only sensible media, besides “CBN News,” that I have encountered lately.

I have been angered by the C-SPAN, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS biased coverage of this government shutdown blaming our heroic Sen. Ted Cruz, U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions, and Speaker of the House John Boehner. Even my Internet service home page story about the salmonella-tainted chicken had to add “during the government shutdown.” What does salmonella in chicken have to do with the government shutdown? They seem to be trying to panic the public about a process of balancing the budget, which is supposed to be done every year by Congress. If this president and the Senate would cooperate, maybe this year, Congress could actually accomplish this task for a change.

What is wrong with America’s media? Have they been “bought out,” brainwashed into globalism (one world government) or Communism, or been threatened to be audited by this president’s “strong-arm entity,” the IRS? First, Larry the plumber, then, famous brain surgeon, Dr. Ben Carson, and various members of Tea Party groups targeted by IRS after publicly disagreeing with this president.

Can the Republican Party revoke the membership of members who take the oath of office to defend our Constitution and then betray that vow? America is in great danger if we are no longer at least a two political party system.

I have come to the opinion, as I listened to House and Senate hearings that the fault of the government shutdown, a term coined by the liberal media, rests squarely on the shoulders of this president, Harry Reid, the Democrats (Socialists), and the “turncoat” Republicans.

Did Harry Reid realize that when he called Sen. Ted Cruz and Tea Party members “anarchists” he was inadvertently calling this president a tyrannical ruler? Historically, most anarchists are resisting tyrannical rulers. The only anarchists that I recall in America’s history were our Founding Fathers who rebelled against the tyranny of the rulers of Britain. Remember “no taxation without representation”?

Our House of Representatives protects us from the unauthorized taxes in Obamacare, if we the people will allow them to do their job. The House of Representatives is set up by our Constitution to place a check upon a president who might abuse the authority of his office.
