1948-2013

Richard Church, 65, of Marion, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013. He was born on April 29, 1948, in Poteet to Maria Perez.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ofelia; children Mona Doss and husband Tom, Melissa Pena and husband Tony, Matilda Morgan, Richard Church Jr. and wife Kelly, Melinda Grote and husband Dan, and Maggie Van Zandt and husband Mike; grandchildren Madison, Tommy, Stephen, Lily, T.J., Tanner, Taylee, Hannah, Justin, Matthew, Devon, Dillon, and Darren; brother Manuel Perez; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, Oct. 14, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. with a rosary vigil at 2:30 p.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in La Vernia. A funeral Mass was held on Monday at 3 p.m. in the church.

Interment followed in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in La Vernia.

Memorial contributions may be made by way of Masses.
