Cousins retires from U.S. Army
Master Sgt. Sharon Elaine Cousins
After 27 years of faithful and honorable service, Master Sgt. Sharon Elaine Cousins officially retired from the U.S. Army on Oct. 1, 2013. She is the daughter of Erlinda Martinez of San Antonio and the late Pilar S. Martinez, formerly of Levelland.
Master Sgt. Cousins enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve on Aug. 25, 1986, and entered on active duty on July 31, 1988. Her awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Army Good Conduct Medal. She graduated from the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy in 2008. She has been stationed in Texas, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Kansas, Germany, Arkansas, Georgia, and North Carolina.
She currently resides in Jacksonville, Ark., with her husband, retired Sgt. 1st Class Russell, and their three children, Andrew, Austin, and Allana.
