Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. Irene Sanchez passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 36 years, 6 months, and 20 days. She was born on March 25, 1977, in San Antonio to Victor and Mary Delores Martinez Sanchez.

She was a resident of Floresville for 21 years and a former resident of San Antonio.

Irene was preceded in death by her father, Victor Sanchez; and her son, Albert Ramon Sanchez.

She is survived by her husband, Domingo Sanchez Jr. of Floresville; children Alyssa Dominique Sanchez, Angel Rene Sanchez, and Abel Cruz Sanchez, all of Floresville; mother Mary Delores Sanchez of San Antonio; mother-in-law Alice Sanchez and husband Efrain of Floresville; father-in-law Domingo Sanchez Sr. of Floresville; sisters Margie Sanchez of Floresville and Eva Sanchez of San Antonio; brothers Randy Sanchez and Victor Sanchez Jr., both of San Antonio; sisters-in-law Mary Hernandez of Poth, Dianna Rodriguez of Lockhart, and Sara Estrada of Floresville; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, officiated by the Rev. Frank Kurzaj.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
