POTH -- Students in the Poth Independent School District will have to pass another standardized test -- a drug test.

The Poth board of trustees approved Oct. 14 during a regular meeting that student drug testing would start at the beginning of the 2014-15 school year, said Superintendent Scott Caloss after the meeting.

Caloss said he presented the board with a student drug survey and other information regarding student drug testing and use, and the trustees then approved the test.

The board took no action regarding the possible acquisition of land, also on the evening’s agenda.
