Texas Book Festival Oct. 26-27
Take a drive up I-35 to Austin to enjoy the Texas Book Festival Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26-27, in and around the state capitol in downtown Austin. The event is free and open to the public. The festival will feature more than 225 authors plus a jampacked lineup of live music, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, the Lit Crawl, and more. Themes that have emerged include the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination, the Obama administration, bullying, and National Book Award nominees.
The youngest readers will enjoy the Children’s Chapter, which includes the Children’s Read Me a Story Tent, the Children’s Entertainment Tent, and the Children’s Activity Tent. Additionally, cooking experts will be featured in the cooking tent to present their latest cookbooks, engage in discussions, and perform a variety of cooking demonstrations.
