Locally heavy rainfall is possible over portions of South Central Texas mainly Wednesday, Oct. 30 during the night into early Thursday, Oct. 31.

Localized flooding is possible mainly over the northeast sections mainly east of U.S. 281 and north of I-10 when heavy rainfall, 1-2 inches of rain possible with isolated totals near 4-5 inches. Localized flooding possible, some flooded roads and low water crossings. Minor flooding along creeks and streams.

The main impact looks to be the 12-hour period from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.

An upper level storm system and an associated cold front will be pushing through the area on Wednesday into early Thursday. Warm and humid conditions will set the stage for increasing chances of rain starting on Wednesday and lasting through the first part of Thursday.

Overall rainfall totals will decrease as you head west and southwest toward the Rio Grande River.

Most of the flooding rains are expected to be well northeast of the area across sections of far northeast Texas.

The upper level system and cold front should push east on Thursday allowing for rain chances to decrease significantly by Thursday afternoon.
