Monica Cavazos and Rosendo Montoya were united in marriage on Saturday, June 1, 2013, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, Texas. The Rev. Gregory Szewczyk and Deacon Alan Crosby officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Gus and Cynthia Cavazos of Poth, and the granddaughter of Gladys Maha of Poth and the late Clarence Maha, and Elia Cavazos of Sebastian and the late Gustavo Cavazos Sr.

The groom is the son of Rosendo and Angel Montoya of Floresville, and the grandson of Ruben and Elida Gutierrez of San Antonio, Simona Santos of San Antonio and the late Eulojio Santos, and Mary Montoya of Floresville and the late Alejandro Montoya.

Rebecca Cavazos, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Wiatrek, Melissa Wiatrek, Alexandria Montoya, Amanda Roberts, Alyssa Montoya, Lauren Slaughter, Madison Slaughter, and Jillian Slaughter. Flower girl was Sadie Wiatrek.

Ryan Carrasco, friend of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Christopher Trinidad, Blake Griffith, Nicholas Mayorga, Estevan Lara, Christopher Rocha, James Herrera, Julian Herrera, and Heron Cavazos. The ring bearer was Graeson Harris. Ushers for the occasion were Lance Vradenburg and Cameron Maha.

Following the beautiful wedding ceremony and Mass, a wonderful evening continued with a reception, dinner, and dance in the Poth VFW Hall.

The couple reside in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., where the groom is stationed with the U.S. Air Force at Hurlburt Field Air Force Base.
