FLORESVILLE -- Police here are searching for 26-year-old Nicholas Moreno of Floresville, who is the subject of an arrest warrant charging him with aggravated assault in connection with an incident Oct. 31.

According to Detective George Ortiz of the Floresville Police Department, officers responded at 7:45 p.m. to the basketball court in Legion Park on Fifth Street after Moreno allegedly approached a 23-year-old male and punched him twice in the face, causing the victim to fall backward and strike his head on the basketball court, which fractured his skull.

The victim is being treated at San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

Moreno stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 235 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Floresville Police Department at 830-393-4055.

Anonymous tips -- which could qualify for a cash reward if police make an arrest or recover stolen property -- can be furnished to Crime Stoppers of Wilson County at 830-393-INFO (4636) or http://bit.ly/NDrIut.
