Mary N. Elias was born Aug. 5, 1917, to Vicente and Dolores Elias. She went to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the age of 96.

She was a graduate of Trinity University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She taught elementary education in the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) and retired from Highland Park Elementary School. Mary remained an active member of the SAISD Teachers Alumni. She was also a member of Las Mesias United Methodist Church for more than 83 years, where she played the piano. Mary will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Amado Elias, Rosa Vasquez, Florentino Elias, Margaret Elias, and Vicente Elias Jr.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Adrian Elias and wife Cynthia and their children, and Edward Elias and his daughter.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 5-9 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in the Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio, Texas.
