Offer condolences


Joseph Albert Jiral of Kingsville, Texas, 92, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, in San Antonio. He was born on Jan. 6, 1921, in Poth to Edward and Theresa (Schwertlich) Jiral.

Joseph was a World War II Navy veteran. He retired from Celanese in Bishop. During his retirement years, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing dominoes, and spending time with his friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Robinson Jiral; his parents; sister Lorene Jiral Grozier; and brother Ray Jiral.

He is survived by sisters Annabell Jiral Jasek and Evelyn Jiral Meuth; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 6-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Kingsville, with the Rev. Jim Stembler officiating.

Interment with military honors followed in the Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church, 1120 S. 8th St., Kingsville, TX 78363.
