1948-2013

Sam Strunk, 65, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013. He was born on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1948, in Edinburg to Burdette Phelps and Verda (Jones) Strunk.

Sam served in the U.S. Navy and fought in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carmen (Lutz) Strunk; son Ronald Strunk and wife Cynthia of Adkins; granddaughter Kennedy Strunk of Adkins; brother Gary Strunk and wife Sissy and Brett of Mountain Home; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; and many loving family and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 8, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel officiated by Pastor Royce Smith.

Interment followed in the Mission Park South Cemetery in San Antonio.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
