Benjamin Alan Willborn Sr. of Georgetown, Texas, a loving husband, father, and son, suddenly entered into eternal rest Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. He was born Aug. 24, 1962, to Jimmy and Carrie Willborn in San Antonio.

A graduate of East Central High School in 1981, Ben married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne, shortly after. He lived most of his life in San Antonio, and worked in the insurance industry. He could build or repair any type of engine. Ben was most happy when he was working on a project, whether for work, family, or friends. He was an avid hunter, boater, and fisherman, with a love of the ocean. All who knew Ben knew his love for the outdoors and his hard work ethic. He had a great sense of humor, quick wit, loved to dance, lit up the room when he entered, and had a very kind and tender heart. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Yvonne Marie (Albury) Willborn; his sons, Benjamin Willborn Jr. and wife Myriah and Christopher Willborn and wife Gabriela; his daughter, Maranda; and granddaughter Anela. He is also survived by his father and mother, Jimmy and Carrie Willborn; his brothers, Jim and David; and his sisters, Donna, Carol, and Missy. Ben will also be greatly missed by many other family members, including in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 4-7 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapel North in San Antonio, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Luke’s Catholic Church in San Antonio.

He was laid to rest in the Willborn Family Cemetery in Poteet.

A reception followed in the VFW Hall in Poteet.
