Incumbent Place 4 Floresville city Councilman John W. Guerrero will go on to a third and final term after his decisive victory over challenger Paul W. Sack. Guerrero received 338 votes to Sack’s 169 votes in the Nov. 5 Floresville City Council election.

Johnny Ray Nieto, who was unseated in the 2011 election by Place 3 Councilman Sherry Martinez Castillo, will succeed her on the council. Castillo did not file for re-election.

Eric Rodriguez also ran unopposed for Place 5. He was appointed to the seat in December 2012, after former Councilman Johnnie Rene Gomez vacated the seat ahead of his unsuccessful bid for mayor.

A swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected councilmen is set for Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in Floresville City Hall.

Alex, pay attention already! Go to a meeting, sit down, and listen! Or even sit and watch the videos of the meetings. If you spend the time to get involved, you'll find that your questions are getting answered.
