FBI, police converge on La Vernia eatery

LA VERNIA -- Details are scarce at this time following a midday raid Nov. 19 by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the La Vernia Police Department on Los Compadres Mexican Restaurant on U.S. 87 here.

La Vernia police Chief Bruce Ritchey directed all inquiries to FBI spokesman Michelle Lee in San Antonio. Lee was unable to release any information at the time, but said that there was no danger to the public.

The Wilson County News will update this story upon the release of additional information.
