1938-2013

Constance Maureen “Connie” Blair, 75, crossed heaven’s gate to eternal life on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, in the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin. She was born on May 6, 1938, to Lenora Roehe Magee Shaver in Houston, Texas.

Her body had fought the brave fight for many years. All who knew Connie knew her faith in God was her strength here on earth. Connie was part of a proud, hard-working German family. Her grandparents came to America to make a better life. Connie continued that legacy. In 1959 she married James “Jimmy” Blair. They made a living and raised their family on the Blair Dairy Farm in Seguin. Connie retired from AT&T in 2003. She never stopped farming. Connie was a longtime, faithful member of Kingsbury Baptist Church, the Independent Cattleman’s Association, Holstein Association USA, the Texas Farm Bureau, and other various organizations.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Caroline Lenora Shaver; brother James D. MaGee; husband James J. Blair; and many other special relatives and dear friends.

Connie is survived by her daughters, Brenda Sue Mrazek and husband Rodney and Charlotte Lynn Russell; son James Jarrett Blair and wife Shelly; grandchildren Caroline Maurene Welfel and husband Chris, Catherine Sue Schoenvogel and husband Jared, Regan Michelle Fohn and husband Trey, Shae DeLaney Blair, Cassandra Kay Mrazek, Colin Rodney Mrazek, and Jamie Ryn Blair; three great-grandchildren, Tarryn Fohn, Rease Fohn, and Wyatt Schoenvogel; sister-in-law Jean Honea; aunt Gayle Scholer; cousins Marvin Roehe, Clifford Roehe and wife Connie, Paula Kohlman and husband Shelton, and Darlene Quarles and husband Sammy; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, with a family viewing from 4-5 p.m. and a public viewing from 5-7 p.m. in the Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Kingsbury Baptist Church in Kingsbury.

Interment will follow in the San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin.

Memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s name to the Baptist Children’s Home at 909 N.E. Loop 410, Ste. 800, San Antonio, TX 78209; or to the Seguin 4-H or FFA.
