Maggie Irene Shaver, 93, of Cassville, Mo., went to be with her Lord Friday, Nov. 15, 2013. She was born to Arthur and Hattie Wiley on Feb. 25, 1920, in Stockdale, Texas.

Irene attended grammar school and high school in Stockdale. At the age of 18, she married W.H. Shaver on July 16, 1938. With this union they had a son, Charles Edward, and a daughter, Lela Ruth. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family, and attending church. Irene was a powerful example of how a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother should live her life, her family said. She and her husband resided in San Antonio until 1980, when they moved to southwest Missouri and resided there for more than 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hubert Shaver; her son, Charles Edward Shaver; and her parents.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Lela Barnes; two grandchildren, Troy Green and wife Brenda and Lisa Cornell and husband Steve; and four great-grandchildren, Chad Green and wife Jessica, Alecia Lewis and husband Chris, Jennifer Green, and Steven Cornell.

A graveside service was held Sunday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. in the Steele Branch Cemetery near Stockdale.
