With the new year, the Wilson County News will introduce several new features on our website, a new look on our webpage, and continue introducing our phone apps. We will be doing all this in conjunction with our 30th anniversary in 2014.

As always, you, dear readers, are number one with us, so we are asking for your feedback on one of the changes we are considering. While some have complained about anonymous posts, others enjoy the anonymity. Anonymity allows readers to comment without feeling political pressure or possibly embarrassment, however, it also provides the temptation for some to be sarcastic or even hurtful in their remarks. This is an issue that we have been studying for months, if not years, and each time we think we are ready to announce a decision, doubts appear. Again, this is the case.

The question is, do we continue to allow anonymous posts, or has the time come that we require readers to use their true identities when they post comments to articles and blogs on our website? We would be interested in reader comments about the blogs.

We ask readers to help us make this decision as you share your thoughts on the subject. You may identify yourself when you post or not, as you choose. Realize, however, that comments made under your real name will hold more weight than those posted anonymously. And please keep all comments in good taste.

Make your best argument.

Chief know it all, curious the imbedded page breaks of you and Grouch match exactly. While you say I sound like a student, you bring to mind the nursing home dayroom.
