1928-2013

John C. Rios, 85, of Smiley died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, in Gonzales, Texas. He was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Smiley to Felipe and Carmen (Cantu) Rios.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Irene (Almaguer) Rios.

He is survived by his children, Ruben A. Rios, Elvia Calderon, and Raul A. Rios, all of San Antonio; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 22, from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon, officiated by the Rev. Ouseph Kuriakose.

Interment followed in the Nixon Latin American Cemetery in Nixon.
