GI Forum helps veterans
If you or someone you know is a veteran who is struggling, the American GI Forum’s National Veterans Outreach Program wants to help. The outreach program is a nonprofit whose mission is to promote stability among very low-income veteran families, as well as assist with other support services.
The goals of the program are to provide rapid re-housing, prevent homelessness, and assist very low-income veteran families in securing and keeping suitable, permanent housing. Additionally, the program provides case management services, to include determining the need and availability of assistance, development of a housing stability plan, helping to acquire veterans benefits and referral to other community based organizations, providing temporary emergency financial assistance based on financial need, and financial counseling.
The main office is located at 206 San Pedro, Ste. 104, in San Antonio and serves Bexar, Wilson, Atascosa, Guadalupe, Comal, and Medina counties.
