SARA welcomes new members
The San Antonio River Authority (SARA) is proud to announce three new members of its board of directors, which represents Bexar, Wilson, Goliad, and Karnes counties.
Businesswoman Lourdes Galvan has been elected to represent Bexar wCounty District 2. She, a former San Antonio District 5 councilman, brings a wealth of experience in community service to SARA.
James Fuller, M.D., is a retired cardiothoracic surgeon and was elected to serve Goliad County. Dr. Fuller has been actively involved in the San Antonio River Watershed and currently serves on the Goliad Soil and Water Conservation District.
Jerry G. Gonzales has been elected to serve Bexar County District 1. Gonzales formerly represented constituents on the Bexar Metropolitan Water District and the Canyon Regional Water Authority.
A 12-member board of directors governs SARA. Six directors are elected from Bexar County and two are elected from each of the three other counties, with each elected member serving six years. Policies established by the board are executed by the management organization under the direction of a general manager appointed by the board.
