Porkin Around is the top winner of the 25th annual Nixon-Smiley Livestock Show’s Wild Hog Cook-off held Nov. 16 at the Nixon-Smiley Livestock Show grounds, located east of Nixon off U.S. 87. The event, originally scheduled for Oct. 19, was rescheduled due to rain.

The Porkin Around team won first place in the Dutch Oven Dessert, sponsored by Mahan-Patteson VFW Post No. 547. 7U3 Ranch earned second-place honors.

Porkin Around once again returned to the winners’ circle, this time in the Pork Ribs category, sponsored by Caraway Ford of Nixon. This team also earned first in the Brisket category, sponsored by Hodge Electric.

Hungry Hoggies upset the Porkin Around team for a clean sweep by taking first in the Pork Other Than Ribs category, sponsored by Leon Davis Water Well Service.

This team won two second-place honors -- in the Pork Ribs and Brisket categories.

Hodge Electric and Hodge Construction earned second place in the Pork Other Than Ribs category.
