“Christmas in Stockdale” is set for Saturday, Dec. 7, starting at 10 a.m. in downtown Stockdale.

For the early birds, festivities for this year’s celebration will commence with a Masonic Lodge pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m., followed by the Reindeer Run 5K race at 9 a.m. and the Jingle Bell Children’s Fun Run at approximately 9:45 a.m. at 1009 West Jackson St. Early registration is open now at For more information or for registration forms, visit

Other events include pictures with Santa until noon; Lions Club Kids Fun Zone, holiday vendors, an arts and crafts fair, and entertainment.

For those in the holiday baking mood, a holiday cookie-decorating contest -- for children and adults -- will be held, with drop-off time from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Judging commences at 1 p.m. with a silent auction closing at 1:30 p.m.

The ever-popular “Santa Paws” Dog Costume Contest will be held at 1:30 p.m. Entry fee for this and the cookie contest is a toy for the Sheriff Santa Program.

“Christmas in Stockdale” is an official drop-off site for the Wilson County Sheriff Santa Program. All guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to benefit the underprivileged children of Wilson County at City Hall.
