Prospect show set for Dec. 7 in La Vernia
An exhibitor walks his Hampshire cross during last year’s prospect show.
Stockdale FFA Booster Club is having its third annual fund-raiser prospect show Saturday, Dec. 7, at the La Vernia Chamber of Commerce off U.S. 87 in La Vernia.
The show is open and invites fellow FFA and 4-H members in Wilson and surrounding counties to show steers, heifers, hogs, goats, and lambs. Entries will still be accepted for a late fee of $20.
Judging will begin at 9 a.m. Pens are limited so it is recommended that you register early to reserve a space.
A special pee-wee (ages 4-8) showmanship for pigs, goats, and lambs will also be held.
Other activities include a silent auction, with some great items to bid on, and concessions will be available.
New this year is a rabbit breeding show. Entry fee is $10 per rabbit. Take your breeding rabbit -- bucks and does. The rabbit show will begin at 10 a.m.
Also, a baked foods contest will be held. Entry fee is $5 for bars, cookies, pies, breads, and cakes. Judging begins at 8 a.m. and all entries will become property of the Stockdale FFA Booster Club and will be sold in the concession stand.
