1927-2013

Prudencia Tristan Casas, 86, of Nixon, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, in New Braunfels. She was born April 11, 1927, in Gillett, Texas, to Manuel and Augustina (Guerrero) Tristan.

Prudencia was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Trinidad Bermea; second husband, Timoteo Bustamante Casas; and two sons, Armando Casas and Baby Boy Bermea.

She is survived by her children, Adele Garcia, Josie Mendiola, Linda Arevalo, Ernestine Pena, Ruben Casas, Estella Salinas, Lucy Mendiola, Barbara Hernandez, Margaret Lazo, Pauline Casas, and Pablo Casas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 29, from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel of Nixon.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon, officiated by the Rev. Ouseph Kuriakose.

Interment followed in the Nixon Latin American Cemetery in Nixon.
