Delmar George Muenster Jr. passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 77 years. He was born April 9, 1936, in Bexar County, the oldest of eight children, to Delmar George Muenster Sr. and Thelma Moravitz.

Delmar was raised and lived in Wilson and Southeast Bexar County. He was self-employed in various construction-related work but made multiple friends and acquaintances while operating the Mobil Service Station near East Central High School for 10 years from 1973-83. Delmar loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching wildlife, and tending to his garden. He was always doing some “tinkering” work at home. He was always helpful to assist anyone in the community when needed. He enjoyed a good joke and always tried to put a smile on people’s faces.

Delmar is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Karen, Dale, and Brenda; three grandchildren; siblings Betty, Robert, Fred, Annie, and Shirley; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 29, from 5-7 p.m. in the Dellcrest Funeral Home in San Antonio. A funeral service was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Interment followed in the Cover Cemetery in Bexar County.
