Offer condolences


Mary B. Mattke, 99, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013. She was born on May 14, 1914, in La Vernia to Wilhelm and Marie (Lenz) Mattke.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers C.J. Mattke and Paul Mattke; and sisters Frieda Jarutowicz, Elsa Witte, Alvina Strey, Rosa Witte, Laura Heinemeyer, Clara Mattke, and Erna Duelm.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Vernia, officiated by Dr. Robert Palan and Pastor Gary Goodson.

Interment followed in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in La Vernia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund, 310 Seguin St., La Vernia, TX 78121.
