The title of this piece is most commonly associated with Mexico's first dictator, Porfirio Diaz, who ruled Mexico for decades prior to the civil war of 1910. I believe we can now plagiarize some of his words and say 'Poor America. So far from God'. I know some may disagree or even become angry, but read on before you make judgment. The following has nothing to do with a so-called ideological or political war going on in our country. It has everything to do with the spiritual war in which we find our nation's citizens at present. This is a war between good and evil. It's no more complicated than that. It's a war of natural laws (God's law) opposing secular laws (man's law). And, it's a world war, not just our nation alone. Look what we've done and what many are fighting for (and against) at present.

·No prayer is permitted in most public schools or on school grounds in general.

·Many public schools ban prayers by team members and coaches in locker rooms prior to games as well as in graduation ceremonies.

·Many public schools ban the words "under God" being used in the Pledge of Allegiance.

·Many states have banned opening prayers at government meetings and functions in and/or on public properties and in public buildings used for government purposes and functions.

·Christmas trees must be called "holiday trees" in many cities and municipalities around the country, even though no one seems to be able to identify or name the "holiday" being celebrated!

·In most states ten commandments plaques have been ordered removed from state, county, and municipal buildings as well as on the grounds of public properties should they exist. They have also, in many states, removed them from court rooms, even though the founders used them to form the basis of most law.

·Again, in most states, nativity displays are forbidden on public properties or in public facilities. In many of those states Menorahs have also been banned from display.

·Elementary and High School students in many states and municipalities in our nation are not permitted to exchange Christmas or Easter cards, draw names and exchange gifts at forbidden Christmas parties, or gather toys for the less fortunate in their area if the toys are being picked up by a Christian organization for distribution.

·For several years, employees of major stores were not permitted to wish customers a Merry Christmas. They were only to wish them Happy Holidays. In many schools and public places, displays such as crosses are not to be worn around your neck or pinned to your clothing as an accessory to your total daily dress.

·And, I could go on and on with this list. (And, that's sad in itself!)

Much of the above has been worked on by a group demanding the separation of church and state which they say is in the Constitution. It is not. I guess they forgot that most of our founders went to church every Sunday, albeit from different religious backgrounds. Since there was no established church building in 1800 Washington, D.C., they attended church services together, in of all places, the chambers of the United States Supreme Court building!
After all the above, we would be remiss if we didn't at least briefly mention just a few of the groups or associations that are furthering the cause of pushing the American people farther and farther away from following the will of the Lord of all creation under the guise of political correctness.

Let's begin with the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL). It does two main things in the political sphere. It supports taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand and works actively, both monetarily and physically, in electing pro-abortion Democrats (and a few Republicans) to all positions in local, state, and federal government. NARAL also opposes any ban on partial birth abortion. In all cases that is the murder of a living baby even if outside the womb. All I can add is "I knew you before you were in the womb". Those were God's words to the prophet Jeremiah. That's where our Creator says life begins. If you disagree with Him, you'll have to take it up with Him, not me.

Then there is the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). It was formed in 1978 with headquarters in both New York and San Francisco. Its expressed focus is on pedophile and pederasty activism and education. Its stated mission is to work through the government to remove or repeal 'age of consent' laws. In other words they want grown men to be able to have legal sexual relations with minor boys of any age. 'Nough said!

Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Association (LGBTA) has come to the forefront recently when several schools in California decided on restroom issues when (simply put) a boy professed that he sometimes comes to school feeling like a girl. The end result in one of the schools was that he be permitted to use the girls restroom on those days. I kid you not! Can you only imagine how many 'normal' boys in high school decided that this may be a good way to investigate some hormone issues they might be having? Seriously, if this weren't so despicably evil, that last sentence would be funny. I can't even go on with this as it is so sickening to me. I hope you get the drift of all the situations that could arise out of mere apathetic acceptance of this.

Gay and Lesbian marriage has already been signed into law by a number of states in our nation. Since gay and lesbian activity is already a sin denounced by the Creator, I believe this morality issue has already been settled. No secular law will ever replace God's law no matter how many excuses we make or how hard we whine or fight.

The greatest fear we should all have right now is ... can our nation humble itself to re-invite God to shine His blessings on us once again? In the Bible He states He is a jealous God. We should have no other God's before Him. And, if we do (which we have many) He will turn His face from us. In Genesis He states "I will bless the nations that bless me and I will curse (turn my face against) those that curse me". You need to determine which of those nations we are becoming at present. Prayer is the main answer. We must ask forgiveness with all sincerity for falling away from He who gave us life and He who will call us from life on this planet some day. Nothing else really counts!

In closing, do I hate any of those participating in the organizations above? Am I asking any of my readers to carry hate for them? Absolutely not! Nor am I judging anyone. I pray that they might realize that their lifestyles are not those acceptable to their Creator. I must also love them as fellow travelers on this earth. That is a command of God on those of us who are Christians. The purpose of this essay is to ask you to determine if what we have done as a society above will lead to a peaceful and more loving nation ... a nation still to be blessed by a righteous God? This was not meant to be a sermon of any kind. Just a list of a few facts to remind us of possibly why we are in the pit we are in today and what we all need to do as a nation to get out of it. It's time for all of us to step up and be counted. After all, if our hearts are empty, our minds don't really matter.

Let me know your thoughts.
