Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. Robert Felix Gawlik, a lifelong resident of Wilson County, Texas, entered eternal rest Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at 3:15 p.m., in the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville, at the age of 71 years, 4 months, and 15 days. Robert was born July 20, 1942, in Wilson County, the son of Felix and Monica Moczygemba Gawlik.

After graduating from Falls City High School, Robert worked as a farmer and rancher. He married Joan Mutz on Aug. 22, 1964, in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kosciusko.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lucian Gawlik, and his sister, Alice Kroll.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of more than 49 years, Joan Mutz Gawlik of Falls City; his sons, Anthony Wayne Gawlik of Poth and Gregory Robert Gawlik of Falls City; his granddaughter, Ciarra Gawlik of Adkins; siblings George Gawlik and wife Joann of Falls City, Catherine Kotara and husband Adrian of Poth, and Patsy Minus and husband Fred of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 5 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Gregory Sawicki.

Interment followed in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Falls City.

Serving as pallbearers were John Bodden, Emil Rakowitz, Melvin Lyssy, Darrell Lyssy, Steven Minus, and Mark Gawlik.
